My new blog, “Sanity Break,” launched yesterday on Everyday Health!
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results (Albert Einstein). It’s comical when your husband’s cousin gets caught in a mental “Groundhog’s Day,” but not so fun when you can’t break the cycle of nonsense in your own brain, or escape from the harrowing view from inside your frontal lobes.
Try as we might to head toward the dry path, our feet amble toward the puddles. We attempt again and again—hourly and over a lifetime–hoping for a water break somewhere along the way.
Welcome to Sanity Break, a place where I hope that you can sit down and take a breather from the mental gymnastics that can be so exhausting.
This blog is a combination of support and education, of community and rambling. I cover depression and anxiety primarily, but also touch on the other mood disorders comorbid with the twin powers, most of which I have experienced myself: bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating issues, post-traumatic stress disorder, and ADHD.
