AA022724While I was at the Johns Hopkins Mood Disorders Research and Education Symposium, I spoke with some of the researchers currently conducting studies for: major depression, bipolar disorder, and pregnancy.

Here are more details and contact information if you are interested in participating. Being part of a study is a wonderful way of contributing toward better knowledge and future treatments of mood disorders.

Do You Have Major Depression?

The Johns Hopkins University is recruiting men and women for a research study in depression. Eligible participants will have clinical interviews by trained psychiatrists and will also have monitoring of their EKG.

  • To be eligible for the study you must be at least 18 years old and have major depression requiring treatment.
  • Participation will involve outpatient clinical visits.
  • Testing will include evaluation of heart rhythm and an overnight sleep study, and monitoring of glucose and blood pressure.
  • You will be compensated up to $125 for your participation.

Johns Hopkins Medicine is looking for volunteers to participate in a paid 7 Tesla MRI research study.

Are You Pregnant or Have a Friend or Loved One Who Is Pregnant?

Johns Hopkins Medicine is conducting a research study looking at symptoms of depression, anxiety, and feelings in general during and after pregnancy.

    I have just started to follow you and having recovered from BPD but still have a diagnosis of Bipolar disorder which I always will have. Thankfully my psychiatrist will treat me without all the medication I previously was on except for the aid of dalmane 30mg for accute insomnia. I’m confident that I can maintain my moods as on the medication I was nothing but completely suicidal having taking at least 80 or more overdoses plus a terrible amount of self-harming.
